BOLD operates as a “virtual organization” so that we keep administrative costs low. BOLD’s small staff work hard to empower grassroots networks and volunteers to raise awareness and funds to make maternity care mother-friendly. Karen Brody, BOLD’s founder and artistic director, through her energy and creative vision, and together with our worldwide group of dedicated organizers has raised over $350,000 and educated millions about maternity care issues worldwide. BOLD locations have raised money to provide doulas for women in prisons and homeless women; held performances to educate teens and BOLD Red Tents with teenage mothers; and brought together community leaders to create and re-open birth centers.

BOLD is not a non-profit, but does offer tax deductions for all donation through our fiscal sponsor Fractured Atlas.
