Karen Brody
Karen Brody, writer, activist, mother, is the author of Birth, translated into French, German, and Spanish and performed in communities around the world since 2006 as part of BOLD, a global movement to make maternity care mother-friendly. Brody is the founder and Artistic Director of BOLD.
In 2008 Karen published a book version of Birth with stories from the BOLD movement. She is also the author of several health books.
Inspired by her passion to change the culture of birth Karen created the FEAR to FREEDOM Birth Facilitators Training Certification Program. FEAR to FREEDOM Birth is a childbirth preparation method that offers Body, Voice, Action tools for pregnant mothers to have empowered births. Karen trains a worldwide network of birth workers, coaches, and other professionals who are passionate in assisting pregnant moms to have their best births.
In addition to training in iRest yoga nidra, Karen has a Masters of Arts degree in Women and Development from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands. Before becoming a writer she was a community organizer for ten years leading workshops for women around the world.
